Company Announcements
Company announcements let HR admins broadcast news, updates, and reminders to all employees or a targeted segment. Announcements appear in the Employee Hub dashboard and can optionally require employees to acknowledge they've read them.
Creating an Announcement
- In Salesforce, navigate to Company Announcements from the App Launcher.
- Click New.
- Fill in the Title and Content fields.
- Choose an Employee Segment to target a specific group, or leave it blank to reach all employees.
- Set a Publish Date (leave empty to publish immediately).
- Click Save.
Pinning Announcements
Important announcements can be pinned so they always appear at the top of the announcements list, regardless of when they were published.
To pin an announcement:
- Open the announcement record in Salesforce.
- Check the Pinned checkbox.
- Save the record.
Pinned announcements are shown at the top of the list in both the Salesforce Last Updates widget and the Employee Hub Announcements page. Multiple pinned announcements appear in reverse chronological order above all non-pinned announcements.
Use pinning for time-sensitive communications — major policy changes, office closures, or critical reminders — so employees see them immediately without having to scroll.
Acknowledgement Tracking
You can require employees to confirm they have read an announcement:
- Enable Require Acknowledgement on the announcement record.
- Employees will see a prompt in the Employee Hub asking them to confirm.
- Track who has and hasn't acknowledged via the related list on the announcement record.
Attaching Files
You can attach files — such as documents, PDFs, and images — to a company announcement:
- Open the announcement record in Salesforce.
- Add your files to the Attachments related list.
- Save the record.
Employees can view and download these attachments from the announcement, both in the Latest Updates card on the Hub dashboard and on the People → Announcements page.
Notifications
When an announcement is published, employees automatically receive notifications through all enabled channels: email, mobile push, web push, and Slack. No additional setup is required.
Segmenting Your Audience
Announcements can be targeted to specific employee groups using the same Employee Segments used elsewhere in flair (e.g., by department, location, or role). Employees outside the segment will not see the announcement.
Targeting Managers
A new Is Manager condition lets you target announcements specifically at people who manage others — or explicitly exclude them.
An employee is considered a manager if they are:
- The direct manager of at least one other employee, or
- An active additional manager with the HR Manager responsibility.
To target managers only:
- Create or edit a Company Announcement in Salesforce.
- In the Employee Segment configuration, add a condition: Is Manager = Yes.
- Combine with other conditions (location, department, team, entity) as needed.
To exclude managers:
Set Is Manager = No to reach only individual contributors.
"Is Manager" works alongside all other segment conditions. For example, you can target "Is Manager = Yes AND Location = Berlin" to reach only Berlin-based managers.
