AI Command Bar
Note: The AI command bar is available to organisations on a Flair AI plan. If you don't see it in your Employee Hub, contact your account manager or our sales team to learn more.
Disclaimer: AI can make mistakes. Always verify important information with your HR team, and treat AI responses as a helpful starting point rather than a definitive answer.
The AI command bar in the Employee Hub lets employees ask HR-related questions in plain language and get answers drawn from your company's own policy documents.
Accessing the AI Command Bar
Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere in the Employee Hub, or click the command bar icon in the top toolbar.
Answering from Company Policy Documents
When you ask a question, the assistant searches your company's uploaded policy documents — such as sick leave guidelines, travel expense rules, or parental leave policies — and composes an answer based on what HR has actually written.
For example, asking "I don't feel well — what should I do?" might return:
- The steps from your sick leave policy (e.g. notify your manager before 10 AM, select the Sickness absence category)
- A note about when a doctor's certificate is required
- A direct link to the source document
- A one-tap shortcut to request an absence
Privacy and document access
Employees only see answers sourced from documents they are permitted to view. If a document is restricted to a specific group (e.g. managers only), its content is never included in answers for employees outside that group. Newly uploaded or updated documents are available to the assistant immediately.
Example Questions
- "What is our remote work policy?"
- "How many days of parental leave am I entitled to?"
- "What's the process for submitting a travel expense?"
- "I have a doctor's appointment — should I request an absence?"
- "Where can I find the company handbook?"
Tips for Best Results
- Write in natural language — no need to use keywords or commands
- The assistant replies in the same language you write in
- Click the source document link in the response to read the full policy
- For payroll, legal, or time-sensitive questions, always confirm with your HR team
