Learning with Talent LMS

Overview

The Talent LMS integration allows users to synchronize courses, users, and learning progress between Talent LMS and the flair platform. This article provides an overview of the integration steps, key features, and functionality for HR admins, managers, and employees.

Integration Steps

The integration consists of four main steps:

Setting Up the Integration

  1. Navigate to the HR Admin page and select the Talent LMS icon.

  2. Provide the following details:

    • API Key: Obtainable from your Talent LMS account.
    • Domain Name: Ensure the domain is valid.
  3. The system validates the credentials and establishes a connection.

User Mapping

  1. Two options are available:

    • Import Existing Users: Pull users from Talent LMS into flair.
    • Create New Users: Add flair users into Talent LMS.
  2. Users are matched by email, and a mix of importing and creating users is supported.

  3. Additional details:

    • Talent LMS external role information and unique identifiers are saved in flair.
    • Permission set required: LMS Manager.

Managing Individual Employee Connections

You can connect or disconnect individual employees from Talent LMS directly from their employee record using the Employee Talent LMS Status widget.

  1. Navigate to an employee's record in Salesforce
  2. Locate the Employee Talent LMS Status widget
  3. The widget displays the current connection status for the employee
  4. Click Connect to link the employee to Talent LMS, or Disconnect to remove the connection

Note: This widget is only visible to users with the LMS Manager permission set (or users with appropriate security access). This feature allows you to manage individual employee connections without needing to use flows or bulk operations.

Course Synchronization

  1. Courses from Talent LMS are imported into flair.

  2. Admins can inspect the course details in flair, including:

    • Course titles
    • External role information
  3. Employees are enrolled in relevant courses using flair's interface.

Progress Synchronization

  1. Synchronize employee progress in Talent LMS with flair using the Sync Now button.

  2. Employees can log in to Talent LMS to complete courses, and progress is reflected in flair after syncing.

Features

Employee Hub

  • Employees can view their assigned courses under the Learning tab.
  • Courses are categorized by completion progress.
  • A Go to Course button redirects users to Talent LMS for specific courses.

Manager Dashboard

  • Managers can view their team's learning progress under the Team Learning tab.
  • Progress is displayed for each employee, including completed and ongoing courses.

Automation

  • A scheduler enables automatic synchronization every hour to ensure data consistency.

Known Bugs

  • Label Definition Issue: A missing label causes errors during certain operations.
  • UI Bug: Course links in the Employee Hub show incorrect text.
  • Integration Login Issue: Some login processes do not work due to local integration testing.
